Co-founded by Pete Briley (Musician – The Outlaw Orchestra, Pete Briley) and Mike Hughes (Artist Manager / Booking Agent – Ashley Sherlock, The Outlaw Orchestra, Dobermann, Pete Briley), Top Floor Music Limited is launching at the start of 2024 with a mission to help change the face of the industry and help emerging artists as well as established acts with a wide array of artist-focussed services.

Top Floor’s aim is to help artists who wish to stay independent and build sustainable careers from their music without compromising on the quality of their offering. 

The first such artist to join the roster is James O’Hurley, a South London-based singer-songwriter who is looking to launch his solo career after years of touring and gigging with bands.

Both Pete and Mike are keen to point out that this deal is not your typical arrangement, however:

“Despite developing label services for both emerging and established artists, it quickly became apparent that not all artists have the same needs. While some may well be happy following a more traditional label model, others may just want to cherry pick elements of support to enhance their current progress.”

“Not all artists are looking to give up their independence, so with a boutique-style proposition to suit each individual artist on their own terms, Top Floor can provide a bespoke service to the artist and allow the artist to retain true independence from the constraints of a traditional contract and record deal.
Because of this we can appeal to a much broader clientele and address the specific needs that each artist may have – as well as the ability to work alongside artists who may already have a record deal elsewhere without providing conflicts of interest”
