1. What drives your passion for both corporate and creative pursuits?
Trina Kanungo: It’s all about my struggle for existence. I am a small town girl, whose service life was never a cake walk. I have been in Indian bank, posted in Bengaluru, then I resigned and joined Ecgc ltd, in Mumbai. Both the cities are hardcore metropolitan and fast, it was tough for me to adjust with the ambiance. But being in service, I had to apply some pressure on my mind that I need to adjust myself. Thus I started to explore my creative aspects and hence it became easy for me to cope with the corporate culture.
2. How do you balance your analytical mindset with your artistic expression?
Trina Kanungo: Analytical mindset is directly linked to my academic life in IIT Dhanbad, where I have tried to imbibe the analytical skills of my Engineer friends. They were stalwarts and it was a blessing to learn versaltility from them. Artistic expression is a comfort zone for me. I neednot give any extra effort for that. It prepares me to face the hardships of corporate life with passion and patience.
3. What inspired you to become a poet, and how does it complement your corporate life?
Trina Kanungo: Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore is my sole Inspiration. Indian Literature is a storehouse of knowledge, and in corporate too, it is nothing but knowledge that helps you grow. It’s a simple funda… Gyaan barate raho…. Success ke liye mat socho!!
4. How has Yoga influenced your personal and professional growth?
Trina Kanungo: Yoga and fitness regime is absolutely mandatory for everyone in today’s rat race era. Yoga keeps our body and mind composed hence fuelling it every day to start afresh with the hardships of our worklife.
5. What message do you want to convey to young women who aspire to follow in your footsteps?
Trina Kanungo: I am too young and amateur to inspire anyone I suppose. But just one request to every woman, please donot compromise with your dreams. Work hard, focus on your career first, then plan for your marriage. Be financially independent first. Only then you can manage your family smoothly.
6. How do you envision using your multiple talents to create a positive impact on society?
Trina Kanungo: It is not always about talent, it’s about your thirst to learn new things. Covid 19 pandemic has given me this lesson. Life was so uncertain then. I actually realized that “zinda hai, yehi bhagwan ka ashirwaad hai”. So keep exploring life as much as possible. Death is inevitable, but living life upto the brim is what is important. Taste the essence fully, so that you should not regret about anything in your old age. Stay fit, keep healthy, keep enjoying the journey of life!!
