Bogdan Mihai to Debut New Fine Art Photography Series at Fronteras Foto Fest 2025 in Argentina

TUCUMÁN, ARGENTINA — August 2025 — Acclaimed fine art photographer Bogdan Mihai has been invited to exhibit his newest collection, Paths of Life, at the prestigious Bienal Internacional de Fotografía Artística Fronteras Foto Fest 2025, taking place this August in San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina. This marks Mihai’s fourth participation in the festival, and the unveiling of an entirely new body of work.

Paths of Life explores the deep interconnection between the human body and the natural environment. Through vibrant, digitally enhanced images of organic materials such as branches and stones, Mihai creates compositions that resemble internal organs, circulatory systems, and x-ray visions of something both familiar and otherworldly. The result is a visually arresting and conceptually rich experience.

“The veins of a leaf, the cracks in a stone—they mirror our own arteries and bones. I wanted to show that we are nature, not separate from it,” said Mihai.

A Romanian-born artist now based in Houston, Texas, Mihai brings a unique perspective shaped by his background in television journalism and years living in countries including Romania, the UAE, New Zealand, Russia, and the United States. His photographic work is widely recognized for its elegant aesthetic and powerful narratives, often touching on environmental, societal, and philosophical themes.

Mihai’s previous exhibitions at Fronteras Foto Fest include:

-Nature Remembered, a poetic yet sobering series featuring plaster statues of animals set atop traditional lace doilies, referencing his grandmother’s home. The series served as a metaphor for the preservation and elevation of nature, warning of what might be lost if it is not protected.

-Synapses, an ethereal collection of images inspired by the way the human brain forms connections. The series echoes the motion of thought and memory

-Inheritance, a haunting visual narrative set in an abandoned health spa in Herculane, Romania, drawing parallels between cultural decay and the responsibility to leave a better world for future generations. The internationally acclaimed series helped establish Mihai’s signature style: beautiful, symbolic, and subtly provocative.

His career in visual storytelling began with a journalistic photographic series in 2005, following his experience during the Sri Lanka tsunami. That work marked a turning point, igniting his pursuit of photography as a narrative and emotional art form.

“Photography helps me process experience and offer others a new lens through which to see their own,” said Mihai. “Paths of Life is about reflection—on our biology, our environment, and our shared fragility.”

Exhibition Dates:Paths of Life will be on view from August 10 to September 5, 2025, at Fronteras Foto Fest in San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina.
