ABOUT THE SONG
“The song is inspired by the fierce mama bear energy within that laser-focuses on discerning between truth and lies when it comes to the well-being of our children and ourselves. Protest music for the disinformation age. A Mad Mama March for the times, stating that MutherLuv is one that not only protects, but educates.”-Jennifer Grimm
ABOUT JENNIFER GRIMM
Jennifer Grimm is an American vocalist, songwriter, actor and curator. A dynamic artist inspired by Judy Garland, D’Angelo and Mel Tormé, she has toured all over the world, singing at such renowned venues as Carnegie Hall and Birdland Jazz Club. Although she has performed across many genres and done extensive work in musical theater, she is probably best known for her work in jazz – as a solo performer and with the Adi Yeshaya Jazz Orchestra. She also served as the Music Director at Crooners Supper Club in Minneapolis — one of Downbeat Magazine’s Top 100 Jazz Clubs in the World. She brought the legendary Count Basie Orchestra to Minnesota and has produced many concert series showcasing top jazz, classical and musical theater acts.
Born into one of America’s last traveling vaudeville families, Grimm was raised on the stage, impressing audiences with her big voice and engaging presence. Never content to settle, she pushed herself as an artist – growing into not only a lauded interpretive singer but becoming one of the finest songwriters and storytellers.
A member of the Recording Academy, Grimm has released four albums and is currently working on a new one of all original music. She has written and produced many songs that have been featured on prominent television shows on NBC, Showtime, AMC, TLC, Hulu and Netflix. In addition, she has done extensive voiceover work and has been the voice of many national brands and numerous audiobooks. An Equity actor, Grimm has acted and performed with many Midwest theaters, including Park Square Theatre, Theater Latté Da and History Theatre, where she performed in I Am Betty – A New Musical All About Betty Crocker. Fascinated with telling the stories of real women, she also worked with the Judy Garland Museum on music for their celebration and is creating a traveling museum exhibit to travel with her Jennifer Grimm Sings Judy Garland show.
Grimm also continues to be one of the most in-demand studio singers and has recorded on countless albums by top blues, pop and rock artists like Nicholas David, Kat Perkins and more. She was a 2024 WAA Fellow of the Performing Arts Discovery Program and also a Selected Member of 2024 US Delegation for the Worldwide Music Expo. She has been a creative coach and has been a teaching artist at the Guthrie Theater, at the college with Norah Long and at Northwest Jazz Festival.
In addition to her work as a performer, writer and producer, Jennifer Grimm is a mother of four. In her limited spare time, she does math for fun.
