Beyond My Comprehension
Strange as it was that someone from somewhere would come and show me the right destination . The train I had got into wasn’t perhaps the right one to reach that destination.
That someone from a distant land spoke to me instantly as if in a dream. That someone like a pretty, young goddess in a fairy tale was there just being curious to know my mind.
I thought I had almost reached my dream- land thinking that I was on the right track.
Nobody knew that my childhood dream was almost coming true. That someone reminded me instantly that something big and incredible ,that I didn’t believe in, was awaiting me.
That someone didn’t even seem to mind ,my being like an obsessed child, if I had heeded to her repetitive words. Seemingly many people were around, pretending to help me in my new venture.
That someone never belonged to my clan, nor my caste, and not even to my creed. That someone must have had a kind of intuitive sense, I believe, far beyond human comprehension. It’s nearly been 4 years since that someone is being with me still on this tough journey. One day, suddenly everything seemed uncertain like a wrecked ship by an unpredicted storm. And I instantly found myself in a new land with that someone, with my limbing leg and perhaps a bit damaged nerves because of the havoc. But still I did keep wondering who that someone was!. And instantly I could see the lighthouse- a new hope of discovering a New Land.
That someone, often known for her silence ,was there with me to reach my destination, though I had boarded a wrong train in the first place.

About S. Maria Viswasam
Mr. S. Maria Viswasam, affectionately known as Mr. Visu, is a respected educator from the Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. With nearly three decades of experience teaching in rural schools, he has played a vital role in shaping the educational landscape for young children. Since 1988, he has also served as a private English tutor, helping countless students master the language.
Born into a Catholic family and baptized in 1961, Viswasam’s early ambition to become a priest was heavily influenced by his maternal grandmother and local nuns. Despite academic setbacks in his early years—specifically a low English score in the 1977 state board exams—he pursued seminary training with persistence. Eventually, he made a conscious decision to walk away from the priesthood and embrace a different path, one marked by education and personal growth.
His life story, captured in “The Memoir,” is a testament to the power of perseverance and the transformative impact of self-discovery. The book is being lauded as a must-read for students, educators, and those interested in personal and spiritual evolution.
The author learns that his book published in 2021 by Book O Pedia publisher from Odisha has not paid a single paisa as royalty and the same publisher seems to have sold the book to one international platform known as eBay from Australia. And worse still, he seems to be home-bound, suffering from severe nervous pain, even unable to meet both ends meet.
