Adimu Madyun, known artistically as WolfHawkJaguar, is a multifaceted creative force—a filmmaker, writer, musician, actor, cultural worker, and spiritual messenger whose art transcends entertainment. Every film, song, and performance he creates carries the energy of ancestry, activism, and transformation—art with a purpose and a heartbeat.
A proud California native based in Oakland, Adimu emerges from a city defined by political, artistic, and spiritual movements. His art mirrors that legacy, channeling heritage, resistance, and healing through every expression. Drawing from African mysticism, narrative cinema, and musical traditions, he crafts works that speak to the soul—invoking memory, honoring struggle, and restoring cultural pride.
Adimu earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Black Studies from California State University, Long Beach, where his exploration of African history and liberation movements shaped his worldview. Later, as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Lesotho, Southern Africa, he taught film and media literacy to youth. It was there, amidst the mountains, that he discovered storytelling’s true power—to heal, empower, and awaken collective consciousness.
Filmmaker
As an award-winning independent filmmaker, Adimu has written, directed, and produced a body of work celebrated for its emotional depth and spiritual vision. His films—Sango: The Story of A King, Haiti & DEMM, and Operation Small Axe—have screened internationally, exploring themes of ancestry, liberation, and resilience within the African Diaspora. His cinematic storytelling is both poetic and revolutionary.
Actor & Theatre Artist
A core member of The Lower Bottom Playaz, Oakland’s oldest African American theatre company, Adimu has established himself as a powerful stage performer. Under the direction of Dr. Ayodele Nzinga, he made history as the first actor to perform August Wilson’s entire Century Cycle, chronological order over five years—a monumental celebration of African American life and legacy.
Musician & Healer
Through his musical identity WolfHawkJaguar, Adimu creates a genre-defying sound that blends Spiritual Hip Hop, Reggae, Soul, and African rhythms. His music serves as meditation—rooted in cultural pride, Black spirituality, and truth. Whether backed by a full band or performing acoustically, his energy is both ancestral and visionary—a bridge between the spiritual and the modern.
Legacy & Purpose
Adimu Madyun is more than an artist—he is a cultural architect and spiritual storyteller devoted to using art as a tool for healing and liberation. His projects continue to honor African storytelling traditions while inspiring transformation in communities worldwide.
In all he does, Adimu moves with purpose—guided by the drumbeat of the ancestors, the spirit of Oakland, and the duty of a messenger Bold. Spiritual. Revolutionary.
