London collective Groovy Shirt Club step into a bold new chapter with the release of Believe, the first single from their forthcoming album Hi Fi Joyride.

The track signals a confident shift toward a more guitar-driven, soft rock sound while preserving the melodic richness and layered harmonies that define the band’s songwriting.
A Song for Uncertain Times
At its heart, Believe is about conviction — staying true to yourself and protecting the bonds that matter when the world feels increasingly unstable.
Against a backdrop of political upheaval, economic uncertainty and a growing obsession with artificiality, the single cuts through with clarity and intent.
“We seem to be living in a world where it’s becoming harder to distinguish what’s real and what’s fake,” the band reflect. “If there was ever a time to believe in yourself and in what truly matters, it’s now.”
The message is simple but powerful: authenticity matters.
A Guitar-Driven Evolution
Musically, Believe sets the tone for Hi Fi Joyride. Warm guitar textures lead the charge, supported by soaring melodies and expansive harmonies.
It’s a sound that feels both timeless and contemporary — rooted in classic songwriting while responding directly to modern anxieties.
The single doesn’t shout. It stands firm.
Recorded the Classic Way – No AI, No Shortcuts
In keeping with its message, Hi Fi Joyride was recorded entirely live in a full studio environment. No AI. No loops. No samples. No downloaded MIDI files.
Every sound was performed by real musicians playing real instruments — embracing the craftsmanship and discipline of classic vinyl LP production.
The album is currently being mixed by renowned engineer Jess Bailey, whose credits include work with Paul McCartney, Seal, Simply Red and Prefab Sprout.
Bailey has long collaborated with co-producer Tony Swain, known for his work with Diana Ross, Spandau Ballet and Alison Moyet among others.
The result is an album rooted in organic musicianship — something increasingly rare in today’s production landscape.
The Beginning of Hi Fi Joyride
With Believe, Groovy Shirt Club lay down a clear marker. This is music made with intention. Crafted, not programmed. Played, not generated.
If the first single is any indication, Hi Fi Joyride promises depth, honesty and a reaffirmation that real musicianship still resonates.
In uncertain times, conviction matters. Authenticity matters. Belief matters.
