The concept is closely connected to Yggdrasil, the cosmic tree in Norse mythology believed to connect the nine worlds. For the artist, the name Irminsol represents a great cosmic tree, symbolizing connection, strength, and spiritual depth.

From a Swedish Village to a Creative Path

Irminsol grew up in the small Swedish village of Hellefors, where his interest in creative writing began early. At the age of thirteen, he started writing poetry, not yet realizing it would eventually lead him toward music.

One day, he shared one of his poems with a friend who was a musician. The response was simple but powerful: “This would make a great song.” That moment sparked the idea that his writing could become music, leading him to write his very first song.

Despite discovering this passion early, the path toward music took time. Irminsol eventually taught himself guitar, learned to sing, and later explored music production using digital audio workstations to build full songs with instruments and vocals.

Remarkably, every step of this musical journey has been completely self-taught.

Balancing Music and Technology

While developing his artistic career, Irminsol also pursued an academic path. He moved to Uppsala, Sweden, where he studied computer engineering and eventually earned a master’s degree.

Today, he works professionally as Head of IT Security at one of Sweden’s largest medical technology companies. This balance between technology and creativity adds another dimension to his artistic perspective.

One of Irminsol’s proudest accomplishments is his album “My Oath.”
