Nathan and Mike Bidwell moved to Florida, ditched whatever they were doing before, and started BRAINLOCK from zero. The band just dropped a lyric video for “Welcome To The Gutter,” a debut single written around the experience of leaving old haunts behind and starting over somewhere new.

The influences they cite are crossover and hardcore across a few different decades, all of it rooted in the same tradition of riffs that move and vocals that mean it. If that means anything to you, you already have a decent picture of where BRAINLOCK is coming from.

They recorded it themselves. No outside producer, no one else’s fingerprints on it. For a band this new, they have come out swinging, and so far, so good.

They’ve already found their way into Kingside Records through Florida hardcore connections and signed on as one of the label’s first acts following its relaunch. Multiple EPs and a full-length are reportedly coming before the year is out.
