Larusta the dead dogs

Larusta, originally from the small country town of Möckmühl in South Germany, began his musical journey as a solo artist. After relocating to London to study at a music university, he found the right musicians to bring his unique blend of dark, lyrical alternative rock and folk ideas to life, forming ‘The Dead Dogs’.

The single, ‘The Life You Save May Be Your Own’, was penned during the first lockdown in London, a period of uncertainty and personal turmoil for Larusta. Motivated by a recent break-up, the lead singer expressed, ‘I realised all I could do was to keep on writing songs – to stay mentally sane and to regain control in some way of this seemingly infinite and very uncertain situation’. The haunting, introspective, and elemental mood of the track reflects this challenging period.

Larusta’s music, characterised by its use of piano, cello, electric guitar, electric bass, and drums, draws parallels with artists like PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, and Warren Zevon. His creative process is spontaneous and unpredictable, often resulting in songs that deeply resonate with listeners.

‘The Life You Save May Be Your Own’ is set to leave a lasting impression and introduce new perspectives to Larusta’s already impressive discography.
