Löser Announce Debut EP Born Lösers—A Row Celebration Of Classic Rock

A powerful new voice is emerging from the UK’s northern rock circuit. Rising band Löser are preparing to release their debut EP Born Lösers, a six-track project packed with high-voltage riffs, unapologetic attitude, and a deep love for classic rock ’n’ roll.

Formed in Carlisle, the band have spent the past three years building a reputation for explosive live performances and a relentless touring spirit. Now, with their first EP on the horizon and a new tour underway, Löser are stepping into an exciting new chapter.

A Debut EP Built for the Stage

Born Lösers blends three original songs with three explosive covers, combining the raw spirit of classic heavy rock with a modern punch. The band proudly channel the energy and attitude of Motörhead while carving out their own sound.

The EP’s title track, “Born Lösers,” acts as the band’s calling card — an anthem designed for packed venues, raised fists, and roaring amplifiers. Loud, gritty, and unapologetic, it captures the rebellious spirit that defines Löser’s music.

Another standout track, “Good On Your Own,” brings a rare positive message to rock ’n’ roll. Built around themes of resilience and self-belief, the song encourages listeners to stand firm and keep moving forward, even when life throws challenges their way.

Meanwhile, “Karen’s Shield” offers sharp social commentary through a high-energy narrative. The track tells the story of a tattooed shop worker facing criticism from narrow-minded onlookers — delivering its message with loud guitars, humour, and a fearless attitude.

Reimagining a Classic

The EP also features a bold reinterpretation of “Damn Your Eyes,” originally recorded by legendary soul singer Etta James. Löser transform the emotional blues classic into a hard-driving rock statement, powered by gritty guitar work and a thunderous rhythm section.

The result is a version that honours the soul of the original while injecting it with a completely new level of intensity.

The Story Behind the Band

Löser are fronted by bassist and vocalist Daz Evilhate, an American-born rocker who eventually made the UK his home. Before forming the band, Evilhate spent time working in Los Angeles during the early 1990s, delivering and setting up equipment for major artists including Prince, Mariah Carey, and John Fogerty.

Those experiences inside the live music industry helped shape the band’s deep respect for performance and authenticity.

Joining him are guitarist Sam “Thorburn” Spedding, drummer Sam “Fretters” Fretwell, and guitarist Ben “Beinne” Riley, bringing fresh Cumbrian energy to a sound rooted in classic heavy rock tradition.

A Unique Live Experience

Löser have already shown they are not a typical rock band when it comes to their live shows. During their 2025 “Searching For Guest Artists” Tour, the group invited guest musicians on stage during multiple stops across the UK.

Sometimes without rehearsal, these guest performers would sing, trade guitar solos, or even take over the drum kit for a song. The spontaneous collaborations created one-off performances that could never be replicated — genuine “in-the-moment” experiences for both the band and their audience.

With the 2026 “Born Lösers Tour” now underway, the band are continuing to build momentum while showcasing their original material across the country.

Keeping Rock ’n’ Roll Alive

Praised for their explosive stage presence and previously recognised as one of Cumbria’s most exciting Motörhead tribute acts, Löser are now fully stepping into their own identity.

With Born Lösers, the band deliver a powerful reminder that guitar-driven rock is still alive, evolving, and fiercely independent.

For fans of bands like Airbourne, Asomvel, and Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Löser bring classic heavy rock roaring into the present.
