Artist Spotlight: CU3E — Where Afrobeat Meets Faith and Purpose

August 14, 2026 Ahsan Hassan

Lagos-based AfroGospel artist CU3E is carving out a distinctive space where contemporary African music, faith, and personal storytelling meet. Born from a passion for music and a desire to communicate messages of hope, resilience, gratitude, and belief, CU3E approaches gospel music with the energy and accessibility of Afrobeats while maintaining a strong spiritual foundation.

CU3E, professionally known as Ese Emeka Emmanuel, is a singer, songwriter, composer, and producer whose sound draws from Afrobeats, R&B, Afro-soul, and Nigerian highlife. The Guardian Nigeria describes his music as existing at the crossroads of faith and everyday life, combining soulful vocals and contemporary rhythms with gospel-rooted messages.

His breakthrough body of work, the seven-track EP I AM, arrived on July 29, 2025. Released through CUBEMUSICWORLD, the 18-minute project presents CU3E as an artist interested not only in creating songs, but in creating a musical testimony.

The EP opens with “The Blessing,” a spoken-word introduction built around parental blessings, prayers, and guidance before moving into songs including “Ebenezer,” “One Thing,” “Confidence,” “Eternal,” “Light of the World,” and “To God.”

What makes I AM particularly compelling is the way CU3E allows devotion and contemporary African music to coexist naturally. Highlife-inspired guitar lines, Afrobeats percussion, layered harmonies, and uncluttered production give the project a warm, accessible character while keeping its spiritual message at the center.

The journey has continued beyond the EP. CU3E has followed I AM with releases including “Closer,” “Alright,” “In My Heart,” and “ABIKE,” demonstrating an artist continuing to expand his sound rather than remaining confined to one formula.

With his debut project now having surpassed 300,000 streams across streaming platforms, CU3E is showing that faith-driven music can connect with audiences far beyond traditional gospel boundaries. His growing catalogue suggests an artist with a clear identity, a contemporary sound, and an increasingly confident voice.

For CU3E, the mission appears simple but powerful: make music that moves people while pointing them toward something greater.
