When Blue Capricorn, the experimental indie project of Rodrigo Caraballo-Marin, began working on his second EP, he knew he wanted Kole involved. “When I met LOREN a few years ago, I knew I wanted to work with her one way or another,” he says. “While we were getting to know each other, I had realized that LOREN and I shared a lot of the same interests in music, most commonly the feeling that music gave us and what we hoped to communicate through our own work.” That shared philosophy became the foundation for “honest.”
The result is a song that feels suspended between intimacy and distance. Its atmospheric production, built on lush synths, delicate keys, atmospheric guitars, and restrained percussion, creates a cinematic backdrop for the emotional weight of the lyrics.
