[August 29, 2026] — JUNØID, the new synthwave project from an award-winning singer-songwriter and producer whose international career spans more than two decades, officially launches today with the release of its debut single, “Xenon.”

More than simply a new musical chapter, “Xenon” represents a rebirth. The track emerges from the collapse of a twenty-year creative partnership, following experiences of exploitation and betrayal by a trusted mentor. Out of that difficult ending comes a new identity, a new sound and a project built around resilience.

The single takes its name from xenon, the noble gas known for producing a distinctive glow when electrically energized — an idea that mirrors the creative philosophy behind JUNØID. The project itself is deliberately layered with symbolism.

The Ø in JUNØID carries several meanings. In Danish and Norwegian, the standalone letter means “island,” while in mathematics, Ø represents the empty set — a clean slate. Drawn as a line through the letter O, it can also suggest negation: no one, no origin, no past holding the artist back.

The name JUNØID also draws inspiration from Juno, the Roman goddess associated with loyalty, marriage and protection, who endured betrayal by those closest to her and remained standing. That symbolism forms an important part of the project’s identity: survival, transformation and the strength to begin again.

Musically, “Xenon” introduces JUNØID through a synthwave-driven soundscape that combines atmosphere, electronic textures and cinematic intensity. The track establishes the project’s futuristic aesthetic while carrying an unmistakably personal story beneath its electronic surface.
