Angela Chambers Reimagines “Everybody’s Talkin” in Haunting New Cover, Video Coming August 12
Angela Chambers has released her version of “Everybody’s Talkin,” the Fred Neil-penned classic best known through Harry Nilsson’s 1969 recording for Midnight Cowboy. The single is out now, with an accompanying music video set for release on August 12, 2026.
A Cover Born From a Second Chance
The single carries real weight behind it. Chambers wrote and recorded the track following a near-death experience during an ER visit earlier this year — a recovery she’s described as eye-opening enough to shift her approach to music entirely. The result is a version of “Everybody’s Talkin” built on that same “nothing left to lose” energy, recorded and produced at Bruce Sugar’s Los Angeles studio.
Sugar’s credits carry their own weight in the room: he most recently produced Ringo Starr’s latest album, and his work with Chambers on this project reflects the same attention to warmth and space that defines his catalog. Jeff Silbar joins on slide guitar, giving the track its aching, open-road undertone.
The Video: An Intimate Studio Session, Frozen in Time
The music video, directed by acclaimed photographer Brownie Harris, was filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina — a full-circle location for Chambers, whose film-school years began in that same state. Harris’s concept leans into an intimate studio-session feel, styled with a nostalgic, portrait-studio warmth reminiscent of an Olan Mills or Lifetouch sitting brought to life.

About Angela Chambers
Chambers is an actress, model, and singer-songwriter whose sound moves between Alternative Pop and Rock, pulling from influences like Lana Del Rey, Janis Joplin, Annie Lennox, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and Lady Gaga. Beyond her vocals, she’s an accomplished flautist, and her songwriting tends to stay close to everyday experience — relationships, memory, the small moments that carry weight.
Her path to this single has been anything but a straight line. Raised in Elizabeth City, a small town in Eastern North Carolina, she got her start in music watching her father and brother play guitar, eventually backing her brother’s band as a vocalist. After film school in Wilmington, a speaking role took her to San Francisco, then a cross-country drive landed her in California for a year — before New York pulled her in. There, she modeled in the garment district by day and toured internationally with her Italo-disco band, Dust, releasing two albums through Berlin’s Mannequin label and Low Life Inc.
A one-way ticket to Europe followed the band’s second tour, leading to a decade-long artist residency in Berlin, where she also became fluent in German. From 2023 to 2025, she was based in Los Angeles, landing a speaking role in Timo Jacob’s Impostors and Ponies while continuing to act, sing, and direct her own music videos.
Her sync and screen credits stack up: placements in Vogue Arabia featuring Kim Kardashian and in CR Fashionbook with Gigi Hadid, a cinematic single called “Jumping the Gun” featuring Casper Clausen, a collaborative record released as AC Meadows, and a starring role in Future Islands’ music video for “Before the Bridge.”
What’s Next
2026 has already been a busy year for Chambers. She’s been cast in Alec Beatty’s film Kev the Impersonator Phenom, shot in Wilmington, which features her song “The Illusion” on its soundtrack. She’s also landed a voice-acting role in an audio drama podcast series directed by Steven Kobrin in Los Angeles.
On the music side, “Everybody’s Talkin” is just the first of two releases planned for the year — Chambers is also preparing to release an original titled “The Last Real Song,” continuing her collaboration with producer Bruce Sugar.
