Tiebreak Embraces a Bigger Sound with New Single ‘Ellipsis’
UK indie band Tiebreak continues to build momentum with the release of their latest single, “Ellipsis,” which arrived on June 12, 2026 across all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Serving as the band’s third release and final preview before their highly anticipated debut album, due later in July 2026, the track showcases a confident evolution in both songwriting and sound.
Described by Happy & Solar Indie as featuring “a denser, rock-oriented sound, but without losing the carefree vibe already present in the previous single,” Ellipsis finds Tiebreak expanding their musical palette while maintaining the infectious energy that has helped them gain attention throughout the year.
The new single follows the success of the band’s previous releases. Their debut track, Makeshift, received a warm reception from listeners, while its follow-up, You Can’t Bring That in Here, Our Drummer Has a Peanut Allergy, further elevated the group’s profile. Together, these singles have laid the foundation for an eagerly awaited full-length album.
A defining aspect of Tiebreak’s creative approach is their commitment to analogue recording. The entire album, including Ellipsis, was recorded to tape at Tilehouse Studios, reflecting the band’s passion for preserving traditional recording techniques. By choosing an old-school production process, Tiebreak sought to capture the authenticity of their live performances and the warmth that analogue recording naturally provides.
Musically, Ellipsis blends a variety of influences into a vibrant indie-rock package. The track features chorus-soaked, 1980s-inspired guitar tones, jazz-influenced drumming, groove-driven basslines, and polished pop vocals. Beneath its upbeat musicality lies an emotional narrative centered on the aftermath of a relationship that has fallen apart, creating a compelling balance between catchy melodies and heartfelt storytelling.
Tiebreak consists of Joe Gait and Jak Lawrence-Hill on guitars, Liv West on bass, Ed Hammond on drums, and Isaac Tofield on lead vocals. Together, the five-piece continues to develop a distinctive sound that combines classic recording values with contemporary indie songwriting.
To celebrate the release of Ellipsis and build excitement ahead of the album launch, the band is performing a series of live shows throughout the summer in and around Milton Keynes. Fans can keep up with tour dates, music releases, and the latest band news through Tiebreak’s Linktree and social media channels.
With Ellipsis, Tiebreak delivers another strong step forward, offering an exciting glimpse of what promises to be an impressive debut album.
